Integrated Pest Management


For half a century integrated pest management (IPM) has made it possible for farmers to raise bountiful crops by managing pests with profitable and sustainable practices. From its formal inception in the 1950’s, IPM has been a “systems approach”, incorporating the use of pesticides, mechanical, cultural, biological, and, more recently, biotechnological controls. Today IPM is the means by which farmers, crop consultants, and the crop protection industry are sustaining important production and environmental benefits for agriculture and society as a whole.
